Special occasions are great opportunities to make memories - today’s fun times are tomorrow’s stories, and holidays are no exception - particularly when they’re built around romance.
Valentine’s Day is coming up in just a few short days, and some of you may still be wondering how you and your sweetheart might spend it together. Well, you’re in luck, because we’ve got some great ideas for you - and they all revolve around Downtown Conway. But first, before you head off to anywhere where selfies might be taken, you’re going to need to get ready!
The ladies can start their day off with relaxing and pampering at Euphoria Salon & Day Spa, get dolled up with hair and make-up from Color Beauty Bar & Boutique, Studio M Salon, or Wyck’s Place, and then pick the perfect outfit for the perfect date at one of our apparel merchants. America Jane Vintage, E. Leigh’s Contemporary Boutique, Golden Girls, Harlow + Poppy, Haynes Ace Hardware (no, really!), HipSway, Lefler’s, Yours Truly Consignment - you’re spoiled for choice!
Now that you’re looking like a snack and feeling like a million bucks, let’s move on to the date.
First Things First - Breakfast
Don’t want to wait until the evening to start celebrating? Start your special day off in Downtown Conway with a hot, fresh cup of coffee from Zeteo or Blue Sail, or maybe grab a savory and sweet breakfast at PattiCakes or Streetside Creperie.
The Great Outdoors
Maybe suits and dresses don’t suit you (see what we did there)? Why not try an outdoor date? If you’re into biking, stop by The Ride for a new set of wheels, or grab some fishing gear from H2:4 Outdoors if you’re the angling type, and finish up with a shoe fitting at The Sporty Runner before you head out into the wild to hit the trails, rocks, and rivers of the wild regions of the Natural State.
Bring the Kids
Sometimes it’s nice to have some peace and quiet away from the kids, but other times including them can make a special occasion an unforgettable one for the entire family. Take the whole crew to Larry’s Pizza and let the kids enjoy the arcade, explore the maze, and munch on just about any kind of pizza you can imagine. Sip coffee while they play at Share The Love Kidsclub, or engage in a little friendly competition by knocking over a few pins at Conway Family Bowl.
For the Animal Lovers
The Neighborhood Pet Shoppe is hosting Coffee with Cats & Kittens on Saturday, Feb. 15 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Enjoy a complimentary hot drink and making friends with some cute and lovable felines. While you’re there, grab a treat for your pet, and be sure to say hello to Koopa the tortoise while you’re there (but don’t let him sneak past you into the parking lot).
There are a lot of great bands and artists making noise on Valentine’s weekend. Catch Heath Sanders on Friday and Mountain Sprout on Saturday at Kings Live Music. JJ’s Grill is bringing John Calvin Brewer on Friday and James Patrick on Saturday, and the Conway Symphony Orchestra is paying homage to “those composers who gave America a voice” with American Portrait: A Concert of Unity on February 15 at Reynolds Performance Hall.
If none of those grab your attention, you can bask in culinary heaven at WunderHaus’s St. Valentine’s Dinner, create a unique Valentine’s momento in one of Board & Brush’s special Valentine’s classes, catch a performance of Into the Woods presented by the Red Curtain Theater, or...man, we really could keep going and going! The point is that Downtown Conway is packed to the bursting with tons of unique ways to celebrate the days that mean the most with the people that are most special to you.
Because no matter what you’re looking for, and no matter where you’re from, you’ll find it in #DowntownConway. #YourPlaceIsHere
